NEWS: OUT NOW! ÉOHUM (French Horn Black Metal) Unleash New EP ''Ealdfaeder''

Montreal black metallers Éohum (pronounced ee-o-um) unleash their new EP 'Ealdfaeder' out now as of March 18th via Mycelium Networks. Recorded at Chris Donaldson's (Cryptopsy) The Grid, Éohum blend the most gruesome with the cleanest of black and doom metal to create hypnotic riffs with seducing French Horn. The follow up to their debut “Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch”, ‘Ealdfaeder’ features a line up of band founder Jeremy Perkins (guitar) who birthed the band from a poetic project, the return of Annie Perreault (French Horn/Flute), Sylvain Dumont (Guitar), Barrie Butler (Vocals) plus new comers Cesar Franco (bass) and Luca Belviso (drums) whom have made up the band up for a year now along with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay (The Agonist) on tracks 2-4-5 for the release. All are focused on the distinct grassroots of old school, very heavy progression that has flourished since last year to give way to a distinct path, sound and image with each member sharing common ground on the message, beliefs and ideas behind Éohum.

NEWS: IGNEA - female-fronted oriental metal - new video

Originally, IGNEA was formed in early 2011 under the name Parallax, as the first Ukrainian band to play oriental metal. After active rehearsals in summer 2012, the band started working on the debut EP titled Sputnik. Its concept is based on space topics, in particular on Mars and first ever human-made Earth satellite, Sputnik-1, as well as John Carter movie and Pioneer One series.

February, 2013, the band entered Morton Studio to start recording Sputnik. Apart from engineering and producing, Max Morton has greatly contributed to Parallax debut EP, acting as session guitarist and singing backing vocals in 'Planet War' song. Sputnik was released on June 15th, 2013.
May 1st, 2014, Parallax released ‘Petrichor’, a joint single with Yossi Sassi, ex-guitarist of Orphaned Land band (founders of oriental metal).

CHAOS MOON (US) - AMISSUM DIGIPAK CD Hellthrasher Productions is proud to present an extended digipak CD version of the latest Chaos Moon EP "Amissum" Composed and recorded between 2012 - 2016 by A. Poole (Krieg, Skáphe, Esoterica) with a little vocal contribution from E. Baker (Manetheren), this new EP captures the band's trademark, densely-layered black metal sound in its most ethereal form. Almost 45 minutes of monumental and evocative black metal soundscapes with touches of shoegaze and dark ambient. Absolutely cathartic experience, perfectly filling the gap between the band's previous album "Resurrection Extract" and the upcoming one, "Æschaton Mémoire". Compared to the original version, self-released digitally in September 2015, the CD edition contains two previously unpublished bonus tracks; one being from the same session as the rest (Resurrection III), the other brand new (Amissum). Diagnosis is a band of Death Metal, located in Mexico. It was founded in June 2014 by Isabel Romero (lyrics / vocals) and Erubey di Bello (guitar / Multi - instrumental). During the months of July and August of that year, the composition of their first album, titled "Sympathy for Disease" starts. Later, between the months of September 2014 and January 2015, they recorded the LP in the "db Metal Recording Studio" studio based in Mexico City. In early 2015, Arturo Aguilar (bass) and Nicolas Ever (guitar) were added, subsequently with the addition of "Chaak" Rodriguez integration of the band ends. With this line up, Diagnosis performs a series of live performances to promote their material in several important forums of Mexico during 2015.

Debiut Kolumbijczyków powinien przypaść do gustu fanom taki zespołów jak Paradise Lost, Novembers Doom czy Moonspell. Klasyczny doom/gothic z ciężkim, ale melodyjnymi riffami, quasi-symfonicznymi klawiszami, utrzymany przeważnie w średnich tempach, chociaż centralki też mają swoje chwile. Główny wokal to rasowy growl, który od czasu do czasu ustępuje miejsca czystym partiom męskim oraz żeńskim. Wspomniane klawisze, akustyczne gitary, spokojne sola budują lekko melancholijną atmosferę. Brzmienie płyty jest bez zarzutu, ale to akurat nie dziwi, skoro za produkcję odpowiadał Waldemar Sorychta. Poszczególne kompozycje trzymają równy poziom, więc praktycznie nie ma na tym albumie słabszych momentów i nawet jeśli ta muzyka nie grzeszy oryginalnością, to dobrze mi się słuchało tego wydawnictwa.
