RAGE - My Way EP (2016)

Nowa EP-ka Rage zawiera cztery utwory i promuje płytę, która ukaże sie w czerwcu tego roku. Pierwszy kawałek to tytułowy "My Way". Jest to typowa muzyka, z jaką kojarzę Rage, czyli power/thrash metal z dynamicznymi zwrotkami i melodyjnym, chóralnym refrenem. Fajnym elementem są akustyczne gitary w pierwszej zwrotce.  Kawałek dobrze prezentuje się, na żywo i jeśli pozostałe utwory z nowego albumu będą na porównywalnym poziomie, to nie powinien on rozczarować. Kolejne dwa utwory to nagrane ponownie klasyki "Black in Mind" i  "Sent by the Devil", czyli bardziej dynamiczna produkcja, ale żadnych rewolucji stylistycznych. EP-kę zamyka hiszpańska wersja "My Way".

Taka drobna dygresja na koniec. Płytę kupiliśmy z żoną podczas lutowego koncertu w Warszawie, ale 40pln za EP-kę to trochę dużo jak na polskie warunki. Podejrzewam, że organizatorzy koncertów mają minimalny wpływ w sprawie cen merchu, ale może warto by spróbować uświadomić tour managerów, że siła nabywcza u nas jest trochę niższa niż na zachód od Odry. Na szczęście w cenie udało się również zawrzeć autografy 2/3 składu zespołu oraz dosyć wesołą sesję zdjęciową i długą, sympatyczną pogawędkę ;).

MATUBES - Песента На Мъртвеца Singiel (2015)

Ten tekst będzie krótki, tak jak krótki jest opisywany materiał, będący singlem bułgarskiego Matubes. Zawiera on zaledwie jeden utwór, trwający niecałe trzy minuty. Bułgarzy wymiatają typowy black metal, zawierający kilka interesujących elementów. Na przykład początek utworu zawiera w sobie coś w rytmiki hard-rockowej, która później pojawią się też w jednym solo. Po wstępie następuje atak wspomnianym black metalem, z dominującymi szybkimi tempami i wolniejszymi momentami przy refrenie. Sam refren jest interesujący ze względu na klimat wytworzony przez czyste partie wokalne. Utwór jest w języku bułgarskim, co dodaje mu pewnej egzotyki, Matubes ma na koncie EK-kę (do przesłuchania tutaj ) a w tym roku ma pojawić się debiutancki album, z którym mam nadzieję będę miał okazję się zapoznać. Całkiem długi wyszedł ten tekst, biorąc pod uwagę, że dotyczy jednej kompozycji.

MGŁA - Exercises in Futility (2015)

Nowa płyta Mgły pojawiła się znienacka. Minimalna akcja promocyjna, żadnych raportów czy przecieków ze studia. I tak jak poprzednia "With Heart Toward None" niezbyt mi podeszła, tak ten album zawładnął mną od pierwszego przesłuchania. Sześć kompozycji trwających 42 minuty to mistrzowskie połączenie agresywnych dźwięków i melodii. Każdy element tej układanki jest dopracowany w najdrobniejszym szczególe i idealnie komponuje się z pozostałymi, Na całej płycie nie ma ani jednego zbędnego dźwięku, ani jednego momentu, który by odstawał poziomem od reszty. Poszczególne utwory to ostre, lecz równocześnie pełne emocji gitary oraz mocny, ekspresyjny wokal. Partie perkusji natomiast, to czysta poezja. Muzyka zawiera w sobie takie pokłady energii i dynamiki, że głośniki wręcz eksplodują. To zasługa między innymi świetnej produkcji, gdyż dźwięk jest selektywny, przestrzenny, ale nie krystalicznie czysty. Na pierwszy rzut ucha wydaje się, że w sumie w tej muzyce nie ma nic nowego, ale kolejne przesłuchania pozwalają odkryć mnogość aranżacyjnych pomysłów i smaczków nadających tej płycie świeżości i przebojowości. A patent na zakończenie tego albumu w moim odczuciu jest wprost genialny w swej prostocie.
